Emmanuelle: Marilyn or Blondie?

I remember going to see a french film in my first year at university with my new roomate. Neither of us could speak french but she told me she wanted to see it because her brother thought the french actress in it was the most beautiful woman in the world. Well, if she was that beautiful I wanted to see her too.

Eighteen years on I still think this french actress is the most beautiful woman in the world. Emmanuelle Béart.

If your not into your french films then you may remember her from Mission Impossible or Manon des Sources, but to refresh your memory, I recommend seeing her speaking her native tongue in Un Coeur En Hiver or Une Femme Francais. (If your into your vintage then Une Femme Francais is a must – the 30’s wedding dress is to die for.)

So when I saw her on the front cover of a magazine called Crash, I just had to buy it. And boy what a photoshoot it is:

Is that not the most exquisite face?

Clearly, the photoshoot is Blondie inspired, as the interview is based on Emmanuelle’s new film Bye Bye Blondie, but I don’t know about you, I feel there’s more “Marilyn” vulnerability there than the Blondie rawness? Particularly the third to last image.

Ironically the trailer for the film is raw with a capital R!

So I’m a little perplexed …….
