Aurore de la morinerie

Brushwork

February 23, 2015 by igetakickoutofyou

How satisfying would it be to be able to create something incredible using whatever material you just happened to pick up? Aurore de la Morinerie can and I’m very jealous. Here’s the evidence…..

Carine Bouvard

Heavenly Creatures

January 28, 2015 by igetakickoutofyou

How beautiful are these masterpieces from french painter Carine Bouvard? To create such delicate works Carine uses a mixture of acrylics, printmaking, oils and drawing. “Mes Femmes oscillent entre réalisme et onirisme, force et fragilité, maladresse et délicatesse, explains Carine “elles sont sur le fil et tout reste à explorer”. (I won’t bother to translate – I’m sure you get the picture and doesn’t it sound so much better in french?)

Home to Honey Rider

January 13, 2015 by igetakickoutofyou

How gorgeous is this house in East Sussex? I think it’s quite a favourite amongst homes magazines. You can see it’s entire fabulousness on Light Locations. In fact I am pretty sure that the gorgeous pin up girl in picture 3 is what inspired me to go and find my own J.H Lynch art work (My Own Honey Rider), a few years back. Do I want to hire it? More like move into it!

The Journey

October 21, 2014 by igetakickoutofyou

Sometimes a picture just has to be painted. A pinterest favourite, I love the quirky nose ring – she looks in the middle of journey to who knows where…..

Denim Rules

September 29, 2014 by igetakickoutofyou

Denim inspiration can’t get any better than Current & Elliot’s “Denim Story“. The book, published by Rizzoli, features cut offs, boyfriends to bell-bottoms, dungarees to skinnies – it’s denim heaven! And if your a retro queen, never fear, there are some fabulous images of James Dean, Marilyn, Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot. The only thing missing is Nick Kamen in his boxers! (David Gandy take note, less is definitely more 😉 ) All photos by Hilary Walsh

Hot Hosiery

September 22, 2014 by igetakickoutofyou

Judging by this autumn’s editorials, hosiery is back! Overjoyed! – what a great way to update the wardrobe without disturbing the bank balance. You could take the Harper’s Bazaar route and opt for all sizes of fishnet from whale net to ringo hole (are we still talking about hosiery??) or even a risqué fishnet body stocking. Or you could take the more demure Vogue option of open work cable. The choice is yours!    Photography: Harper’s Bazaar Sebastian Faena, Vogue […]
