Instant Country Sunshine

I don’t mind the winter or the cold, as long as it’s bright and at the moment it’s just a rather nasty grey drizzle. So it’s time to brighten up the day with some colour, courtesy of Country Living “Create Your Own Country Home”.

Traditionally I’m a bit of neutrals-fascist but recently, since I moved, I’ve actually found it easier to incorporate a “pop” of colour. Have a look at Sneak Peek to see what I mean.

You know, I reckon if you live in the northern hemisphere its a wise investment, since bright days just can’t be relied upon (even in the summer). So here is some inspiration and some words of advice in bringing instant sunshine to your home:

Just don’t do what my husband and I did, in our first home, and decide on a colour because it’s on offer. We ended up with a lilac hallway which was absolutely hideous and actually made us quite nauseous. Probably the reason why I became a neutrals-fascist!

Thanks for this… just what I needed on this grey, dingy day. I’ve even painted my nails a bright red to combat the encroaching winter blues!
